Toronto Championships

·        Stephen Fung picked his 2nd champion in 2000 after 12 years

·        Nguyen Phuc added another title in 2001 (1997 – 1999, 2001)

·        YuYing Huang reclaimed her title in 2002 again since1995

·        Ximing Zheng claimed his first title in 2003 and became the 13th Toronto Champion

 

Canadian Xiangqi Championships

·        Edmonton picked up their first ever team champion in 2000

·        Toronto won its first double crowns (Team & Individual) in 2002

 

World Xiangqi Championships (90, 91, 93, 95, 97, 99, 01, 03)

·        Huang, YuYing won the World Women Championship in Singapore in 1995

·        Nguyen, Phuc was Non-Chinese 2nd Runner Up in Hong Kong in 1997

·        Bill Brydon won the Non-Asian group 5th place in Shanghai in 1999

·        Elton Yuen elected as the Vice President of WXF in Macau in 2002

·        2003 the 8th WXF Championships in Paris was postponed

·        The 8th WXF Championships is held in Hong Kong Dec 2003

 

New York - Toronto Xiangqi Challenge Games

·        Toronto dominated for years, but New York has won 6 times in a row, 1996 to 2002, to set our record to 4W, 1D, 7L

 

Forshang Cup

·        Nguyen, Phuc was 11th at the 3rd Annual Forshang Cup World Championship in Hawaii 1999

·        Exhibition Games at Chinese cultural events

·        Philippine -Toronto Xiangqi Friendship Exhibition Game in 1999

·        Shenyang World Champion Tournament in 1999 - Stephen Fung won the 12th place

·        Millennium Canada Day Cup - Nguyen, Phuc became the Champion of the Champions

·        In 1993, Grand Masters Yang GuanLin, Lu Qin and Xu TinHong visited Toronto

·        In 1994, Grand Master Liu DaHua, Master Cai FuRu visited Toronto

·        In 1996, Grand Master Zhao GouRong, Masters Liu DianZhong, Lin HongMin visited Toronto 

·        In 1998, Tao HanMing gave a 13-game simul, Zhao Guo Feng and Gao Hua played exhibition games in Toronto
